Checklist for Employment Visa
Before filling out the application form and booking the appointment for applying for the visa, please prepare the following documentation completely and carefully:

(Please make sure to submit all documents listed below as we cannot process incomplete applications. If you fail to submit a complete application at your appointment, the visa process will be severely delayed and the visa may be denied.)

o Completely filled out and signed application form
o Copy of the data page of your passport,
o Motivation letter,
o Working contract with a company in Germany or confirmation of deployment of employer in Taiwan;
o Proof of German language skills (if applicable),
o Proof of qualifications (for example graduation degrees, job references, e.t.c.), plus 1 copy each

o Possibly the approval (Vorabzustimmung) of the “German Bundesagentur für Arbeit”
o Skilled work/qualified employment for graduates of foreign universities:
Proof that your foreign university degree is recognized in Germany must be submitted along with your visa application. Please submit:
- copy of the Anabin database entry for your degree, stating the “H+”-rating for your university and the listing of your degree and subject.
Please follow the instructions on the ANABIN website in order to print out this confirmation.
If your university is not rated “H+” or your degree or subject is not listed in the Anabin database, please submit an official evaluation of your degree.
- Degree evaluations can be obtained from the ZAB (Zentrale für ausländisches Bildungswesen)
- Professional license from the competent certification body or guarantee of the professional license in original and 2 copies (e.g. for medical professions: confirmation issued by the licensing authority in the federal territory, i.e. guarantee of the professional license or granting of the medical license);

o Declaration of Employment (Erklärung zum Beschäftigungsverhältnis), to be filled out by your employer in Germany

o Curriculum Vitae in German or English,

o 3 current, identical and biometric passport pictures (not older than 3 months)
o Taiwanese ID-card or ARC, plus 2 copies;
o If applicable: Approval of the German “Bundesagentur für Arbeit” or ID-Number of the approval;
o Extract of the German trade register of the German company, plus 1 copy
o If applicant is older than 45 years: proof of retirement arrangement (for example life-insurance), plus 1 copy
o Usually on request, shortly before the visa is issued:
- intended date of entry
- Proof of health-insurance, in original plus 1 copy

Please prepare one complete set of the above mentioned documentation and also bring the originals. Please do NOT staple any documents!
In case documents cannot be presented in English or German, a relevant translation has to be enclosed.
Please note that the German Institute reserves the right to request additional documentation in individual cases.
Your application will be sent off to the relevant authorities in Germany for processing. The processing takes about 8 weeks. The processing time is depending on the individual case. The German Institute is not in the position to influence or speed up the processing time in any way. We kindly ask to not contact us for any status updates during the processing time and thank for understanding that inquiries of these kinds cannot be answered. As soon as the authorities in Germany finished processing the application, we will immediately get in contact with you via email.
Only complete application can be processed. We reserve the right to reject incomplete applications. The handing over of the above mentioned documentation does not guarantee the issuance of a visa!
The visa-fee is 75,- € payable in the equivalent in Taiwan Dollar in cash or via credit card. After handing over the application, no fees can be refunded.
