Facility Manager (m/f/d)

At the German Institute Taipei (in German “Deutsches Institut Taipei”), we create a welcoming and well-maintained environment for both our staff and visitors. As a dynamic mission, we’re looking for a proactive Facility Manager who will also manage our pool operations and garden spaces. What You’ll Be Doing:

As our new Facility Manager, you’ll be the superhero who keeps everything running smoothly—both inside and outside! From ensuring our buildings and garden is in tip-top shape to managing the daily operations of our pool, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and functional environment. Your duties will be varied and impactful, and you'll work with a friendly, dedicated team.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our beautiful facility, ensuring all systems (mechanical, electrical, and structural) run like clockwork.
• Keep our pool sparkling clean, safe, and inviting! You'll be responsible for water quality, pool equipment, and ensuring the pool is always ready for use.
• Be the go-to person for all things maintenance: managing contractors, sourcing equipment, and making sure everything is in working order.
• Stay on top of inventory and manage the purchasing of supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Manage the garden spaces, keeping them lush and well-kept year-round.
• Respond to facility issues and maintenance emergencies swiftly, keeping our environment stress-free for all.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in facility management and gardening — whether you’ve worked in a similar role before or you’re ready to bring your expertise into this field, we want to hear from you!
• Driver license for cars and fun driving in Taipei
• Hands-on knowledge of pool maintenance, including water chemistry, filtration, and general pool upkeep.
• A technical whiz with a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail—you’ll be the one everyone turns to for solutions!
• Budget-savvy with the ability to manage resources effectively.
• Strong communication skills in English and Chinese (both written and spoken)—a must to keep things running smoothly in our multicultural team.
• A proactive, can-do attitude—you’re someone who takes the initiative and enjoys a challenge.
• Dedication to your work so you are happy with occasional paid overtime
